Assemblage using ColourArte

Today I bring you a mixed media assemblage painted with ColourArte Products, from start to finish

Here's my process
I have used a Paper Whimsy chipboard

then I began my composition adding metal findings and a Relics And Artifacts resin
I prepared everything with a coat of gesso
Then I added textures to the heart of my piece
I mixed Primary Colors with gel medium and I absolutely lost myself in the painting

for the background I used twinkling H2O's in burnt umber #26376 to age my paper
the final touches were done with silk paint in solar gold applied with my fingers to the raised pieces
A closer look to the center

Although this piece can be hanged on a wall on its own, I wanted the added depth of a wooden frame
I also used Silk to coat my Relics and Artifacts wood frame

I hope you have enjoyed my mixed media piece!

Fairies in my garden, Prima PPP

It's March, it's spring I think I saw some fairies in my garden, I may have captured one or two!
This month's Prima PPP is about lucky and springtime colors!
I wanted to do a tag to test some products, a chance to play with Sandra Evertson's Relics and Artifacts and some of the cool new toys by Finnabair
Here's my take on it!

I played with the new Tropicals watercolors and found a perfect green for the palette on number 18!
Come close to spy the wings of other fairies that maybe lurking about in my little garden!

I think I spy a second set of wings beneath the roses!

Maybe another one? Humm sneaky ones I tell you, hiding among the flowers!
Now if you want to know how to make it, I'll be posting a Snapguide very soon!
Follow me on Facebook and I'll let you know when it posts!!!
Till then check out the cool PPP and look out for those fairies!

La Cueva del Indio, art journal

I was at the postal office this week and found a copy of their philatelic magazine. While browsing I found a new stamp from my island. What a happy surprise!
Of course I asked for it and they had it so  I bought it for my collection!
And of course I cut up the catalog for my art journal! Which leads me to the sketch challenge at Scrap Africa
So here's my entry

Here's the real scenery that inspired the stamp!
The Atlantic Ocean in The North Shore of Puerto Rico is a brave and impressive thing to see. Watching the shore break puts a spell on you!
This is Cueva del Indio in the town of Arecibo!
I created a    Snapguide  so you can see my process
And here's the sketch that inspired my spread

Tranquility, a statement in jewelry

Today I bring you a piece inspired by the Caribbean waters of my beautiful island, Puerto Rico!
A brooch, pendant using a Nunn Design vessel and coral charms.  I absolutely love the idea of having a functional piece you can wear two ways, on a scarf, lapel or your neck!
I love how the ice resin makes it look like its floating in water!  Here's my inspiration
Clear water for miles, beautiful underwater reefs and corals, yes I live in paradise!
