Julie Nutting mini doll Christmas ornament

It's almost Christmas!!!! Time for another ornament!!!
Again I used Teresa Collins big wood ornaments as my base, there's some silver paint on the wood and Tim's distress glitter on top, the mini doll was painted with markers and simply hung with a gold ribbon, voila!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Girl Paige Bloom girl, Christmas Ornament Tutorial

Hi, it seems my bug for Christmas ornaments is still on high gear, LOL I wanted to create another project for Jamie's #BloomGirl holiday porjects

Here's my ornament, begin by stamping your Girl in Jamie's awesome watercolor paper

then using a light pencil stroke, mark the width of your ornament frame

I used gold foil to prep my wood for a nice gold shimmer

after watercolor painting my girl I did some sequins too

I finished with a metal cameo and one of my fave words: CREATE

she looks dashing, specially since I used a gold leaf pen to accent her

Hope you have been inspired today!

Here it is

Gather your materials

I gave a soft coat of gesso to the wood

then using a soft paint brush I painted with my bloom spray

then the pink
then  the girl, various coats of white and pink and glitter

to finish it I used sequins and SIIC

This was FUN!!!!!

Julie Nutting Toby, a Christmas ornament tutorial

Hi everyone!  Back in July way ahead of times a wrote a Merry Nice ornament tutorial.  I am happy to report that it has been the most viewed item in the history of tis blog, thank you very much, many of you have pinned it to your Pinterest boards as well  and it has made me immensely happy.
Now it's not fair not to have a boy inspiration too so after receiving the "Toby" stamp I decided to make a Christmas ornament for the boys too!
so here it goes, first stamp is to gather your ornament, find a good size one because Toby is small but not so much in terms of scale for an ornament

then stamp him on the reverse side, I'm using the same Hazel and Ruby paper on the link above

color it as your like

once finished paint a piece of ribbon with a matching Color Bloom Spray
I sued " Summer Sky"

I wanted to finish my ball with a detail and pearls were out of the question...
so I found this big jingle bell and threaded it using florist wire

to make sure the wire stays inside I used a bit of glossy accents, 3D gloss gel can be used as well

make the proper holes to put the wires inside, as you can see I used the snow flakes from Julie's "warm wishes" doll

so you can better see the jingle

such a cool guy reminds me of my son when he was little!
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial as well
Hugs and Happy Christmas

Prima BAP and SATW, Merry Christmas

Hi all, I hope your weekend was great! Saturday I made this LO using the inspiration at Scrap Around the World and Keren's sketch over at Prima BAP.  I remembered I had this paper poinsettias by Prima from many years ago and since I was working a Christmas page I wanted to have them there as my red element from the board.  I also love the way the aqua and red go together I sprayed with the Color Blooms in soft teal over some Art Basics soft paste to create some fun textures in my background
I also stamped and embossed my favorite Bloom Girl to melt in the background

I used pieces of vintage lace also from the inspiration photo @ SATW

Prima PPP, Bloom Girl Holidays, DIY Christmas

Hi, me again! Another recycled package with an awesome goodie inside...

it all started with this humble packaging...

I cut the store hanger piece and flattened the piece

after it was flat I used an embossing folder

I decided not to bother with taking the label and used it to decorate
for the inside I used Jamie's A4 watercolor paper
to create my journal

I pierced the holes to hand bound it

I hand tore the edges and loved the way the papers core is so cottony

to wrap my journal I used a piece of trim and made a buttonhole to close with a hello pastel brad

to adhere the trim I used 3d gloss gel

this is how it looks

to hide the brad and have a place to write the owners name I used this Epiphany stamp on the inside cover

I wiped a bit of gold crackle on the outside

back view, since I had flattened the package, I have a wrap around design

I hope you get inspired to try your own DIY Christmas!
