12 Days of Christmas Days 8 and 11 Bloom and Julie Nutting

Hi everybody! Hope you had  a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! We had family with us and that makes it the best!
Today I am playing another combo using a Bloom Girl and Julie Nutting's Merry Nice sentiments along with some color bloom spray in Gold Foil on fabulous Bloom Girl watercolor paper.
To create my gold poinsettias I stamped the holly leaves like I showed you on this Christmas tutorial
I embossed them with gold and then used the color bloom with a paint brush to fill them up.  The watercolor paper absorbs the spray so nicely!  Then I sprinkled some 3D Gloss gel and some beads on top for a nice effect.

I totally love the way everything came on together!
Thanks for stopping by!

12 Days of Christmas , Color Bloom Sprays Day 9

Hi everybody! I am totally missing day 8, I HAVE to work with my bloom girl, in the meantime I had to break open my new bloom sprays and my other fave worn leather.  I am using several days today: tons of say it in crystals, gorgeous wood icons, blooms sprays for the Prima challenge
Perhaps this is not your regular, average  card you may say, but this one will be shipped off to a dear friend of mine in England who has a darling granddaughter and I know she will be delighted to play with her and perhaps give it to her.
What better way to bring the spirit of Christmas than to share it with someone you care!
I am also caring about the environment as this is an upcycled project.
So off to the nitty gritty
Every Christmas we wait for the almond nougat to come straight from Spain, we absolutely love "turrĂ³n" and specially the one that comes in the wooden box!

I thought the inside had so much possibility

specially when encountered with something as magical as the bloom sprays

I also needed to transform some furniture

see the beautiful shade of teal on my wood and my wallpaper!

now on to the details

I love the way the SIIC make the garland shine, I also hand cut the sewing machine and broke the blue safety of the bloom spray to create the rectangular frame on my table.  I knew I was missing something else on my table so you will see on the next shot what it is

I wish I could make you play a game to figure out which Prima paper I used to frame on my resin piece, LOL!

You see, I needed the word JOY

And now the outside, it has some greenery and it has been shadowed because I don't want to share the address, but my card is already to ship!

Hope you enjoyed my card! And tanks for visiting!

12 days of Christmas, day 7 SIIC

Hi! Still computer-less but with my imagination in high gear... I had already used the say it in crystals on my day 6 but given there's a New challenge over at Prima using them I decided to play again.
Using the doilies 1 die cut I trimmed the scallops around the circle to create a sweet Christmas bauble.

12 Days of Christmas days 1 & 2

Continuing with my computer despairs here's my next share, a tag using Finnabair glitter, Julie's doll and the doily die.  As with the first one I have more close ups to share whenever I'm able to upload, grrr
This is what I have for now...

12 days of Christmas day 6

Hi I'm so frustrated, I purchased a brand new computer and 3 weeks later it doesn't want to turn on.  I have such beautiful photos o f today's project on my camera and all I have to show is my instagram version.
I was really inspired with today's project, trims. Prima, bear with me as I'm blogging on my phone...
I have used the gorgeous Forever green paper collection, z shabby chic resin frame, the new yuletide bloom, a sentiment from Julie Butting Merry Nice, gorgeous say it in crystals, the leaf dies with gold glitter over a nice glob of 3D gloss gel and of course the gold trim!
Hopefully I'll be able to fix my computer problems soon and show you all the details of my card!
Till then, thanks for stopping by,
Milagros

12 Days of Christmas Days 2 & 4

Hey everybody, busy week for me, but I had to make a stop and do a couple of days on one tag for the Prima 12 days of Christmas challenge.  I decided to play with my doily die that I absolutely LOVE from day 2 and also play with the gorgeous gold crackle texture paste by Finnabair from day 4.  I promise I'll go back and do the odd numbers, LOL!

Thankfulness

It's a beautiful November, beautiful in so many ways
the weather is cooler, the nights are coming in closer, there's so much to love and so much to be Thankful for .  Today I visited the Prima blog and found the sweetest post devoted to making being Thankful our choice!
I will join in focusing MORE on the positive, LESS on the negative, being HAPPIER, living with a PURPOSE, through-out the month of November. Will you?
I decided to celebrate the moment with this wooden project I created using Free Spirit
I chose this particular stamp because her face is one of humility, we all could use a little bit of that!

a quirky mix of very vintage Prima alphas!

blooms, old and new, fabric, paper and some Finnabair elements too!

I hope you enjoyed my project and get inspired in celebrating a month of Thankfulness!

Grow

Visiting my favorite blogs I found a scraplift challenge over at Prima.!  I immediately grabbed the absence of flowers and the abundance of layers and how the photograph had been cropped or taken.  I decided to use Epiphany as well since it seems I can't get enough of it, so pretty and feminine and easy to use in layers.  I used my flower die and cut some frilly pieces that looked like lace instead of blooms.
So here's my take on the challenge
the details

I decided to cut my pic so you had the smile intrigue as it isn't full on
and here's the fab inspiration

Thanksgiving Dinner table Tutorial using Tim Holtz dies

Hi everyone!
Today I want to share with you guys something I have been working on the last few weeks.  I was asked to teach a class for the Thanksgiving table, what a creative challenge that was!  I wholeheartedly embraced it and used something that had been on the back burner of my brain for quite some time.  Using one of Tim Holtz Sizzix dies in a very unique way!

the napkin ring was done with the tattered florals die, Julie Nuttings kraft tags and Inkadinkado stamps
this is the hand finished version, more on that later
The maple leaf is a vintage Sizzix die, one of the old red ones, I used a lot of ArtIngredients by Prima to embellish my placecard.  If you follow me on instagram  @milagroscrivera you will see a leaf close up there
Now to the nitty gritty
 here it goes
you will need 7 pieces of felt, your choice of colors (I used dark chocolate) in 2"x20.5" and the Courtyard die, one of my absolute faves

once you have your stripes
you are ready to fold and cut

it looks so cozy all together before it unfolds!
Now you have even stripes ready to work by hand or by machine.
If you choose the hand work, as you stitch you can add a sequin to finish it up, it's the way I made mine.  Knowing you out there are not so fond of the hand work I also did a trial run with the sewing machine.   Using a zigzag stitch you can sew it together
they tend to stick together quite easily!

these are the settings I used for the machine stitched version

for mine, I'd rather hand stitch, the sequins give it such a beautiful finish, plus they don't interfere with your plates.
I also used the dies to wrap up the glass candles I will use on my table, they look stunning!

I hope this inspires you to craft and invite your friends and family to a beautifully crafted Thanksgiving table!
Thanks for stopping by!
