As for me and my house

We shall serve the Lord, Joshua 24:15
Some things just plain obsess me, I get distracted quite easy! My head spins with ideas and the other day I was texting with Sandra Evertson and she said " I have ideas forever". Talk about kindred spirits!
So I wanted to use one of Rebekah Meier's stencils in a common ground we share, I wanted to do it in fabric. And so I started the journey, then I said how about if I put it on an embroidery hoop and so there it went...
I used versacraft for this, safe on fabric

It was so cool! I said how about if I combine this with some Zenspirations stencils and do a dream catcher?
Distractions I tell you. Then Ken Oliver posts this color challenge. And yes favorite colors and all I drew one of my faces and entered the challenge
And then he posts live and paints ribbon with Colorburst!!! How many times have I done that with other things and I hadn't done it with Colorburst!!!!! Major let's do this and do this pronto alert in my head
So I come to my studio see my hoop and bam inspiration! Another what if checked from my list!
Begin by giving a coat of clear gesso to your fabric you need to prep this for the Colorburst
Set aside to dry and repeat the process for the feathers
Once it dries your canvas is ready!
Have some fun painting your lace like a mandala, very therapeutic!
Once finished you're ready to cut I believe with time they will fray a bit but it'll be even more charming
My Hands, the evidence of painting ribbon and lace...
Scrunch in your hands as you dry them for the crumpled look, very boho and cool!
Using needle and thread stitch the feather
Continue securing your fabric to the hoop and grab the rest of the feathers with some quick stitches
I added some scripture journaling with one of the new Zenspirations stencils!
And a closer look at the yummy ribbon !
Colorburst: turquoise, chartreuse, yellow ochre and a combo of chartreuse and tangerine!

Forever

I've been on a Scrapbooking binge   Yes even fussy cutting! And it felt so good, a whole hour fuzzy cutting Rossibelle! I ended up using a bit but the rest, trust me will surface in another page!
Although you may not be able to appreciate the full background there's IOD oil pastel in white underneath. Black coal bloom spray splatters and inspired by Riikas sketch I deconstructed some chipboard to get some geometrics on my background!
This is Lola with me, you've seen her on LO's with my daughter, she's on my Instagram feed and is the sweetest cat you woul ever meet! I'm forever in love with her, it's not easy finding a cat who loves to sit on your lap and loved to be cuddled! Yes I'm a forever pet lover!
Here are some close ups of my work!
The stripes in the new Rosibelle line match Lola!
These new flowers and bling have me in heaven. Ever since I saw this new release I was in love!
The paper has rose gold foil, seriously you need to get 2 of each of those papers!!! Can you spy my oil pastel background underneath the chipboard?

Sweet

Its my first time playing at More than words challenge. The theme is perfect for my recent vacation pictures! I decided to combine it with the sketch over at Prima. That way I could paint to celebrate our sunset together in Mykonos, Greece this past July!

We have been friends for 31 years, no better friend in the world than the man I married. Loyal, witty, intelligent, gentle. Those escapes we take together make our bond stronger!
Circles is the theme so here's my background  and here's the link to the full tutorial on Snapguide!

Love

Recently I picked up a copy of Creative Scrapbooker, a Canadian based magazine that upon celebrating their 10th Anniversary went global.  I was so inspired to scrapbook I came to my studio and sat down and worked on my photos.  With reckless abandon I worked, disttressed, altered and journaled. And it felt so good.  I haven't done any challenges as of late either so I went for one of my faves the Prima PPP. Putting me out of my comfort zone working with yellow but hey why not?
When I received their new home decor stencils I was so inspired to transform their circle wreath into a LO that enclosed my daughters photograph.  So using their watercolor paper in 12x12 and the watercolor pencils I turned the stencil into my frame
I had fun painting, using color blooms for the splatters, die cutting, wrapping, actually the only 2 things non Prima here are the black pen and the love word!
Ready for some close ups?

next time you have a stencil in your hands how will you transform it?

lovely to have you here, XO
