New Year Resolutions

Ok I said the one before this was my last post of the year...yet today inspiration struck and I obliged. And yes I decided it was worth sharing with you as well!
In my hands the Relics and Artifacts have a way of speaking to me and they connect with each other so well, like pieces in a puzzle!
I started with the center head, it represents me then to my left is my son  with his unruly hair to my right my younger daughter. The eyes represent how we look at the future together. The cross represents my faith and my commitment to make it stronger next year.  The dove represents the Holy Spirit and how I wish it guides us through next year.  I hope the Angels help me guide my family through and thus there's an Angels wing!
I painted with heavy white gesso and then used white crackle paste to represent purity.
I also drilled a hole on the wood to thread  the Lumies, another pure white light.
There's much to look forward to in the future.  There's a lot to do in the now. It's been an exciting year and I look forward to the new one with hopeful eyes!

Thanks as always for stopping by! Happy New Year everyone!

PS: look me up on Snapguide to learn how to make it!

Have a sweet Christmas

Hi today I'm very proud to share the work of a very talented stitcher, 11 year old Mercedes!  She got inspired by an embroidered hoop I had made but she wanted to make it her own. Lawn Fawn designed a collection called Sweet Christmas and that's what she decided to use!
Here's the finished project
And some of the process
Her line up
And her stitching
A job well done!

Chalk owl

Hi! Have you seen the Take the challenge  over at the Desigb Memory Crafts blog? Well you are in for a treat!
How about playing with some chalkboard? And then draw in with some white Pitt Pastels!
Diving head on for some fun R&R
Here's my take on Mou Saha's challenge!
Ok I admit it I totally got carried away, LOL
I started by painting a canvas with chalk board paint, have you tried it? It is so FUN!!!
Cool thing about it is you know it's dry because it's no longer shiny talk about easy!!!
Well after sketching with my white Pitt pastel I got carried away and didn't snap a pic...
I decided to use the set I had and colored it in!
So it's now proudly hanging in my studio keeping me company!
Thanks for stopping by!

Scrap Pink!

Breathe

Hi! This post is a just because! Because I love journaling, stencils, mixed media, mistakes and all. It's all about experimenting and having fun, actually to breathe...
And a little of know how to share as well
Start with Dylusions in London Blue, Fresh Lime and Calypso Teal
Using Gabrielle Pollacos new TCW stencil as sea weed apply modeling paste and top it with embossing powder. I'm using Zing in teal
Dry, now take TCW stencil for the sea horse and sea stars using Zing in Apricot
Don't you just love reveals...

Now do your stars and use Gabrielle's stencil to breathe!!!
Hope you loved this!!! Because I do!

Remember the Now

Well I must confess purple and all its hues are not exactly my faves. But I think that's the purpose of challenges. To take you out of your comfort zone and make you think outside the box. So it is surprising for me to decide on a second purple project for /scrapafrica
Playing on my journal today while teaching some gelato techniques with stamps today!
Very bold I think but that goes with Dina Wakley stamps. She is a believer and Tim Holtz Remember the Now!
Black cherry and lime gelatos with Prima stamps

Some free doodling
I connected the words too
What I used
And how my day was finished.
Here's the mood board again
Thanks for visiting!
